Fostering Eno-Gastro Tourism in the Western Balkans

Wines of Macedonia is proud to be a key partner in the regional project “Fostering Eno-Gastro Tourism in the Western Balkans”, implemented with the support of the Western Balkans Fund (WBF) and the European Union. Together with our regional project partners National Association of Sommeliers Montenegro and Wine Academy of Serbia, this initiative brings together organizations from all six Western Balkans economies (WB6), aiming to strengthen regional cooperation and promote sustainable development through eno-gastro tourism.

A Collaborative Vision for a Sustainable Tourism Future

As part of this project, we are working closely with our regional partners and the Western Balkans Fund to:

  • Empower local stakeholders through cross-border educational programs and knowledge exchange;
  • Promote the region’s unique wine and culinary heritage on both local and international levels;
  • Support the development of innovative eno-gastro tourism experiences rooted in authenticity, quality, and sustainability;
  • Foster lasting partnerships among wineries, hospitality professionals, and tourism operators across the WB6 region.

Expected Outputs

The project will deliver a range of impactful outcomes, including:

  • A regional training program for eno-gastro tourism stakeholders;
  • A visibility platform for promoting regional tourism initiatives;
  • A series of mini-podcast episodes featuring experts and practitioners sharing insights and best practices;
  • Increased visibility and engagement around the identity and potential of the Western Balkans as a unified eno-gastro tourism destination.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected Western Balkans—where wine, food, and shared traditions serve as a bridge between cultures and a driver for sustainable tourism.
